School Expectations

Haven Middle School has established clear expectations for all students using the acronym STARS. The STARS expectations are taught, reinforced and posted throughout classrooms and common spaces of the building as a reminder that Haven Northstars are:
  • Safe
  • Timely
  • Aware
  • Respectful
  • Successful

Restorative Practices

The Haven Middle School Climate Team has partnered with the International Institute of Restorative Practices in an effort to build the capacity of our Social Emotional Learning team and Haven staff to be restorative practitioners in order to support the SEL needs of students and staff.

In alignment with our School Work Plan goal, the Haven team is working to engage students and families in the following ways:

  • Provided with ongoing opportunities for student learning in Restorative Practices
  • Providing access to resources to help students become restorative practitioners: Change Makers
  • Providing weekly exposure to sharing circles, SEL check ins & feedback surveys every trimester

School Climate Team
